  Ari Tan,

Prior to Wharton, Ari worked in private equity focused on infrastructure investing at IFM and Lehman Brothers. He came to business school to transition into a career in media and entertainment and is currently majoring in finance and strategic management. His field application projects at Wharton include a brand extension of a morning news program, as well as interactive marketing experimentation for a major cable company.  Most recently, Ari split his summer between MTV Networks and Accenture focused mainly on strategy projects.
  Sean Griffin,

Sean spent two years working for New York Press, an alternative weekly newspaper based out of New York City, in sales and marketing roles as well as working as a freelance writer.  He later moved into book publishing at HarperCollins where he spent time as an Editorial Assistant and later moved into the finance department where he eventually worked as Director of Finance.  Sean spent his summer internship with BCG’s Los Angeles office.  He is currently the Publisher of The Wharton Journal, the student-run newspaper of Wharton’s MBA program.
  Regina Chang,

Regina is a Wharton MBA, studying Strategic Management and Operation & Information Management. Before attending Wharton, she was a Manager in Business Strategy and Development at Disney and ESPN Media Networks. While at Disney and ESPN, Regina worked on the launch of several new businesses, including ESPN 3D and Disney Junior, and was the lead strategist in network distribution deals with major media operators such as AT&T, DIRECTV, and DISH. During her four years at Disney, she worked on numerous projects in digital media and became interested in how technology is shaping the entertainment industry.Over the summer, Regina interned at Google New York, focusing on YouTube, where she worked on the convergence of entertainment content and technology. Regina graduated with Honors from University of California, Los Angeles with a BA in Economics and History. She was raised in Los Angeles, CA.
  Jessica Wang,

Jessica Wang is currently a 2nd year MBA student at Wharton. Prior to Wharton, Jessica worked at Bain & Company as an Associate Consultant, and then at The Wall Street Journal on the Advertising Strategy & Operations team. This past summer she worked as a Product Manager at Amazon on the Kindle Direct Publishing team. Jessica is currently working on a field application project on ebook marketing, an effort to drive digital sales for author Ben Lieberman’s book Odd Jobs (check it out on Amazon!).  Jessica graduated from Stanford, where she majored in Economics and was an Editor for The Stanford Daily.
  Mike Van Pelt,

Mike Van Pelt is a 2nd year MBA studying Marketing and Operations. Prior to Wharton, he spent 3 years as an associate at A.T. Kearney where he focused much of his time serving clients in the consumer publishing and media industries. Select projects include optimizing newsstand distribution and revamping the freelance labor hiring process for two leading publishers. Last summer, Mike interned in the Financial Planning & Strategy Group at Comcast, where he worked on projects related to customer retention and the future of video content. Mike graduated from Duke University, majoring in Public Policy and serving as Sports Editor for The Chronicle, the daily student newspaper.

Sam is currently a 2nd year studying Entrepreneurial Management. Prior to Wharton, she was the head of Web Analytics & Audience Insight at Boston.com, the website for the Boston Globe newspaper. Before Boston.com, she was in the Strategy & Analysis group at Digitas in Boston, working on General Motors’ brand websites. Last summer, Sam worked in Business Operations at Patch, the hyperlocal media startup now owned by AOL.  Sam graduated from Dartmouth with a double major in Psychology and French Studies and was raised in Connecticut.

Anthony is currently a 2nd year MBA majoring in Strategic Management. Prior to Wharton, he worked at ABRY Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm focused on the media, communications & business services sectors. Before joining ABRY, he spent three years in investment banking at Morgan Stanley as a member of the media and communications industry groups in both New York and London. Anthony spent his summer at McKinsey & Company with the firm’s Southeast Asia regional practice, based in his hometown of Manila, Philippines. He graduated from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, where he majored in International Economics.
  Lara Gitlin,

Lara Gitlin is a second year MBA student at The Wharton School, majoring in Marketing and Operations.  Last summer, Lara worked at Function(x), a start-up that is making investments in media and entertainment with an emphasis on digital and mobile technology.  Lara plans to return to Function(x) in the summer of 2012.  Prior to Wharton, Lara was a Senior Consultant at Oliver Wyman, where she provided business advisory services to large corporations in the United States and the Middle East.  Focused on Media and Technology, Lara has worked with clients in the software, telecommunications, mobile, publishing, and film industries to launch new products and improve operational performance.  While at Oliver Wyman, she developed a report on the state of the communications, media, and technology industries that was presented to industry leaders at the 2010 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.  Lara holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania, and speaks Spanish and Hebrew.

Clayton is a 2nd year MBA student studying Finance and Marketing. Prior to Wharton, he developed an interest in media and technology while working in consulting for McKinsey, and he spent this past summer interning in Comcast’s Corporate Strategy group. He is an active member of Wharton Follies, the school’s annual musical comedy production.

Nippar is a first year MBA student at Wharton, majoring in Strategic Management and Finance. Previously, she was an investment banker at GCA Savvian focused on middle market companies in the technology, media and telecommunications space. She executed mergers & acquisitions and private placement transactions. While living in San Francisco, Nippar was also actively involved with a non-profit organization, All Stars Talent Show, dedicated to promoting human development through the use of an innovative performance-based model that created extracurricular, educational performing arts activities for underprivileged youths. She graduated with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in Economics and a BS in Business Administration.

Adithi Kasturirangan is a 1st year MBA, majoring in Strategic Management.  Prior to Wharton, she worked in non-profit publishing, first as an Assistant Editor and later as an Assistant Marketing Manager, managing a $10M project portfolio. She is currently a 1st year Employment Relations Director of the Wharton Consulting Club. She graduated with Honors from Columbia University with a B.A. in English & Comparative Literature.

Jessica Tam is a first year MBA student at Wharton, majoring in Strategic Management.  Prior to Wharton, she spent nearly five years at Accenture, where she worked with Fortune 500 clients and mainly focused on cloud computing.  Jessica is an accomplished pianist and came to Wharton to pursue her interest in media and entertainment.  She received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Northwestern University and is a native Californian.

Prior to Wharton, Daniel worked at Showtime Networks Inc. as Marketing Manager for five years.  At Showtime, he supervised the creative planning, execution, and development of all the marketing campaign for the network’s boxing series, Mixed Martial Arts programs, documentaries, reality series and studio shows, including the successful launch of Inside the NFL and Inside NASCAR .  Daniel has also held sales and finance position at CBS Interactive, CBS Radio, and HBO.
  Justin Levine,

Justin Levine is a 1st year MBA at Wharton. In addition to co-organizing the Los Angeles Trek, Justin is a Director for the Wharton Digital Media Group (WDMG), helping build WDMG’s online presence and relationships with digital media companies.Prior to Wharton, Justin spent five years as an Analyst and then later an Associate at The Blackstone Group, where he worked with a variety of global real estate managers to help them build their private equity fund practices as well as raise capital from institutional investors. During college, Justin spent a summer at Sony Music Entertainment at Epic Records, where he created and edited segments of marketing plans for Epic artists, including Shakira, Macy Gray and Modest Mouse. He also runs a music website, www.audratic.com, and has been an active DJ for nearly a decade.Justin graduated from Northwestern University, majoring in Economics and Communication Studies, and was Business Manager, Executive Board Member, music engineer and DJ for Northwestern’s non-profit radio station, WNUR, over the course of four years.
