Opportunity
CIM’s Strategy & Development group is seeking highly qualified first year MBA candidates for the position of Summer Intern.
The Strategy & Development team’s primary areas of focus include:
• Developing CIM’s overall strategy and leading high-priority strategic initiatives
• Identifying, evaluating and recommending specific M&A opportunities, supporting the execution of transactions and overseeing any PMI efforts
• Ensuring revenue maximization across CIM’s properties
• Leading business development and partnership discussions, including distribution, technology/product, content and monetization deals
• Supporting CIM’s Product Management, Content Development and Marketing groups with strategy and business planning
• Overseeing business modeling and long-range financial planning
This role’s specific responsibilities include:
• Formulating and evaluating new business opportunities and developing/presenting business plans.
• Developing and managing detailed financial models, projections, and budgets.
• Evaluating the economics and business models of specific products/services, companies, and industry sectors.
• Supporting the launch of new products by working with key constituents across CIM’s functions (e.g., product development, programming, operations, etc.) to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Conducting business development discussions with potential partners.
Ideal candidates for the position should possess
• Bachelors degree
• 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking or venture capital with a focus on the media and/or online sectors OR in a strategy/business development/financial planning role at a leading media or online company
• Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and take on increasing levels of responsibility.
• Strong problem solving skills and thought leadership.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
• A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships and achieve results by working collaboratively with others.
• Due diligence experience on new technologies/start-up companies a strong plus.
• Understanding of the various business models across the internet and media markets.
• Technical understanding and working knowledge of online technologies and their applications is highly desirable.
• Must possess strong analytical and financial modeling skills
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Strong MS Excel and Powerpoint skills
