I was wondering if you could pass the attached job description along. We are looking for an MBA candidate with a concentration in finance for an internship this summer. I have already posted to the school and contacted a career services and now I am reaching out to some different clubs and associations. We are looking to build a relationship with the school and would like to know if you could provide us with some more information about your organization. Initially we are looking for an MBA candidate, but in the future would like to be more involved with the area schools so that we can offer internships to both undergrad and MBA students.
If you could please forward the attached resume to anyone who might be interested that would be great. Also, if you could get back to me with contact information regarding your association along with any upcoming event that are scheduled for the summer /fall, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
The WGA is working with MBA Career Management to get each first and second year student to enter their job search status and offers into CareerPath in the “Job Search Status” and “Edit/Verify Job Offers” sections.
We are asking the clubs to assist with this effort by including a plug for entering/updating the information in your club’s weekly email. The data collected generates reports which help students understand median compensation and typical offer timing as well as identify classmates entering the same industry or working in the same city. All data entered is confidential and only reported in aggregate. Specific resources created from this data include:
WG’08 Full-Time/WG’09 Intern Directory (searchable by first or last name, company name, job location, function and industry. Some alumni clubs use this to facilitate summer receptions.)
Industry Peer Networks (connect with students with experience in a specific industry)
Annual Career Report (companies use to determine the industry, function and geographic career interests of Wharton MBAs and gauge students’ salary expectations)
Responses to media requests – e.g. Business Week, Financial Times, US News & World Report
We recommend that each individual club not duplicate these efforts by creating their own webcafe database with offer information but rather query the WG’08 Full-Time/WG’09 Intern Directory, which is useful for networking and identifying where classmates will be for the summer.
If you have any questions or need additional information on how to promote this to your club, please do not hesitate to contact me or the MBA Career Management offer collection project leads, Elissa Harris () or Jennifer Savoie ().
