M&E’ers,
We’ve got a bus booked for our end of the year Atlantic City trip and are working out drink deals. The price will likely be ~$20 for club members and slightly higher for non members. We’ll post a link to the store, when its finalized. In the meantime, mark your calendars, dig out your rabbit’s foot and spread the word. Best way to celebrate the last day of classes, no doubt…

When: Tuesday, March 25th, 6pm-7pm
Where: JMHH G65, Papa John’s Pizza will be served
Please RSVP to
as space is limited.
Come hear the social networking pioneer talk about the future of online dating, social networking and the challenges of capital raising in the internet space.
Andrew Weinreich has spent the last 15 years starting, and building businesses in the internet space. Andrew is the Founder and CEO of MeetMoi.com, a “Web 2.0″ location-based mobile online dating service, which closed a $1.5 million Series A round of financing from Acadia Woods partners in early 2007. In 2004, Andrew founded I Stand For, Inc., a full-service technology solutions provider to political campaigns and non-profit organization. In 2001, he founded Joltage, an infrastructure services business devoted to building out a global network of WiFi hotspots. Joltage HotSpots were revenue-generating locations where individuals could access the Internet at broadband speeds using their own laptops, handhelds or PDAs. In 1996, Andrew launched sixdegrees.com, which over a period of five years grew to become one of the largest community sites on the Web, with over 3.5 million users. Sixdegrees pioneered the social networking space, and Andrew sold it to Youthstream Media Networks for $125 million before the dotcom bubble went bust.
Andrew previously practiced law as General Counsel for the Hertz Technology Group and was also a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch Investment Banking. Andrew graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990 and earned a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University School of Law in 1994.
Sponsored by the Wharton Accounting Society.

The WGA is working with MBA Career Management to get each first and second year student to enter their job search status and offers into CareerPath in the “Job Search Status” and “Edit/Verify Job Offers” sections.
We are asking the clubs to assist with this effort by including a plug for entering/updating the information in your club’s weekly email. The data collected generates reports which help students understand median compensation and typical offer timing as well as identify classmates entering the same industry or working in the same city. All data entered is confidential and only reported in aggregate. Specific resources created from this data include:
- CareerPath Preliminary Offer Stats (salary and industry statistics)
- WG’08 Full-Time/WG’09 Intern Directory (searchable by first or last name, company name, job location, function and industry. Some alumni clubs use this to facilitate summer receptions.)
- Salary, Offer & Timing Reports
- Industry Peer Networks (connect with students with experience in a specific industry)
- Annual Career Report (companies use to determine the industry, function and geographic career interests of Wharton MBAs and gauge students’ salary expectations)
- Responses to media requests – e.g. Business Week, Financial Times, US News & World Report
We recommend that each individual club not duplicate these efforts by creating their own webcafe database with offer information but rather query the WG’08 Full-Time/WG’09 Intern Directory, which is useful for networking and identifying where classmates will be for the summer.
If you have any questions or need additional information on how to promote this to your club, please do not hesitate to contact me or the MBA Career Management offer collection project leads, Elissa Harris (
) or Jennifer Savoie (
).
Thank you for your help with this initiative!
